Because He First Loved Us
Jesus, born by virtue of a miracle, walked among mankind living a sinless life, then dying a cruel innocent undeserving death at the hands of the truly guilty, subsequently raised by the Father having completed His mission, and now sitting at His right hand until such a time as God has appointed to send Him back to claim His own.
Why all this??
Because He first loved us (1 John 4:19, Eph 2:4) with a love we can’t fully comprehend as humans, but that as children of His, we grow every day to understand more and more.
…and all this has been revealed to us so that we “may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 NIV
As we celebrate His coming to earth, let us be truly thankful for the big picture, God’s plan to save us because He loves us!
