Walking With God
If Satan were to happen to give you advance notice today of what he planned to do to tempt you, could you and would you try to avoid giving him the opportunity?
And yet we know much about what he will do don't we? He comes at us like a hungry lion looking for his next meal. (Col 2:6) He looks for where we are the weakest, and preys on that. He likes to argue and convince us that little white lies are not lies, that a little of this and a little of that is OK, and that it's OK to go along with the crowd. He even helps us envy that crowd sometimes, when we fully know better. Sometimes he uses our own knowledge against us, telling us that it's OK to sin, because we can be forgiven, and sometimes that causes us to almost use scripture as a license to sin, and then we use that same scripture to try and justify our actions.
God forbid!
We have an abundance of warnings in God's awesome word, and we do know in advance that Satan will use our weaknesses against us. He will help us procrastinate, and he will help us create some really good sounding arguments as to why it's OK to try and straddle the fence, even when God says there is no fence to straddle. It is impossible to walk with Jesus and hold hands with the devil. (1 John 1:6-7, 1 Cor 7:23, Col 1:10-11, Rom 13:13, 1 John 2:6, Heb 10:22, Luke 10:27)
Today, may we use the warnings we have from God, the encouragement He gives us to walk with Him, and the armor He provides, and may we overcome Satan's antics.
