Because He Loves Us
"For God so loved the world, that".....He didn't send a committee!
Heard that last week in a sermon, and it was worth passing along.
Much of the time, big things require more than one person to work on them. Often times in the church, we call that a committee for lack of a better term. A combined group effort to make decisions, and then if necessary, spread the work around. Often this turns out good, both in the church and in secular society.
But we also see things get bogged down in committees. In politics, we sometimes see committees filled by certain people so that an agenda can be advanced against the wishes of opposing ideas. I once served on a statewide committee that wrote rules to govern Public Safety, and I've seen our given task not even be recognizable by the time it finally left our committee. What we were tasked to do was never accomplished, because of certain personalities and their will to override others on the committee.
Aren't we glad God sent one idea, His! He sent the one person who could fulfill His will, and not allow it to be distorted beyond recognition. Jesus came to do the will of His Father, and He did so perfectly. Thank God for His flawless vision, and His perfection in bringing it to mankind through Christ Jesus.
Have a great weekend. Hope to see you in the assembly Sunday!
