Live Like Jesus
Paul the Apostle said in 1 Cor 11:1, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." Paul has just spent quiet a bit of time in a letter to help correct some issues with the Church in Corinth he is writing to. He had said earlier, "Therefore I urge you to imitate me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church." (1 Cor 4:16-17)
I suppose there are several ways to sum up what we are expected to do as Christians in our obedience of Christ, but for sure one way is to say we are to be like Him, Christ! Paul focused his life and his teaching others how to live on living like Christ, and therefore, he was able to say, "Live like me!"
For sure, one thing we need to work harder at is to be more Christ-like every day of our lives. We won't ever get there because He is perfection and we are human, but each day, if we strive to please Him, we make progress. One day, we will live with Him, and our imperfections will be taken away forever, but that promise is only for those who both trust and obey Him. So today, we encourage you, live like Christ. Learn of His will and His way.
