Are You In Christ?

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." (Rom 8:1) I hope you call this scripture to your mind often.

Three Quick Points Today:

First, assuming you are a Christian, I hope you have gratitude in your heart because God chose to save you through Christ. He didn't have to you know. He could have chosen to just let us perish in the 'lake of fire' (Rev 20:10-15) but He didn't. He sent us a Savior from His side to pave the way to Him. We need to have a constant attitude of thanksgiving for having been saved from sin and death.

1 Cor 15:57

2 Cor 2:14-16

James 1:14-17

Second, I hope we understand OUR responsibility with this statement. Some erroneously teach that no-one is under condemnation because Jesus Christ died for all, therefore, all will be saved on judgment day. But does it say that? No, it clearly doesn't say that, it says those who are 'in Christ Jesus' are free from condemnation, and we know from multiple scriptures that we are free from condemnation only when our sin has been removed so that we can stand pure before God. When that sin is removed, we are clothed with Christ and we are then 'in Christ"! But having sin removed is something we must pursue, by contacting the cleansing agent, the blood of Christ, so that God can take it away (Rom 6:3-10). He doesn't force us to do that, He requires we make that choice ourselves "through faith..." (Eph 2:8). Then, we must keep it away, with that same blood (1 John 1:5-7). He doesn't just automatically save us, whether we want it or not. If He does, as some teach, what about all those scriptures that talk about the masses, the majority of earth's inhabitants who will be lost on the day of judgement? How can these two belief's agree with each other? Obviously, they can't.

Rom 6:3-10

Rom 12:5

1 Cor 1:2

1 Cor 1:30

2 Cor 2:14

2 Cor 5:17, 19

Gal 3:27. 28

Eph 2:13

Eph 3:6

And third, some also erroneously teach that if you have ever been in a state of salvation, that you can't ever be removed. The Bible has multiple scriptures that clearly teach we can walk away from God and give our lives back to Satan, or fall "fall from grace".

Gal 5:4

1 Cor 9:27

1 Cor 10:12

2 Peter 2:20-22

Gal 1:6

James 5:19-20

Today, we pray you are 'IN CHRIST', where God's grace provides His assurances of salvation. If you are not, we'd love to study with you to help you come to Jesus in accordance with His teachings. If you are 'IN HIM', praise God! Let us constantly recognized the precious gift He has given us, and offer our continual thanksgiving to Him for saving us from sin and its consequences.
