God Hasn't Left
If you could sit down with Jesus and ask him one question, what would it be? For me, it would be about Heaven I think, something to bolster my desire to get there even more. Many would like to know when He's coming back, but He can't answer that one! (Mark 13:32)
A graphic I saw last week had a young man sitting with Jesus asking him why He's not blessing America anymore? Jesus's reply was basically because America has turned its back on Him and His teachings, it is fraught with sexual immorality, adultery, murders, drunkenness, lying, selfishness, greediness, rejection of God and more. But has Jesus and Father God turned their backs on America?
Absolutely not. They hate sin, but continue to love the sinner. Scripture is clear about that. Likewise, for those of the household of God, the church of the Living God, Jesus tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us. (Heb 13:5)
The majority of people in America have turned their backs on God, and deny Him, choosing to live to sin, and some to invent new sinful ways. Yet even with this atrocity, God has not turned His back on us. He continues to bless us with the best country in the world. We have seen times when "things" were better, and even though people would argue as to why they were better, many of us who lived through them would argue that it was because people worshipped God, they sought out to do what God commanded, and they lived by Godly principles and they cared about other people.
Today, we have not been shunned by God. He has not left us nor is He forsaking us. On the contrary, it is the other way around! 1 Cor 6:9-10 is very clear, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." God said it; what is there to argue?
