Thinking Like God
How often are we caught thinking like the rest of the world, when we need to be thinking on a whole different plane? It's imperative that we think like the family who God claims as His own.
I can only answer the question above for myself, and my answer is that unfortunately, way too often, I find my self thinking like the world and I have to correct that! All of our thinking after we become Christians should be from the perspective of our creator, and no longer from the standpoint of our sinful world who doesn't know God, yet that is what comes at us from every angle. We should be able to plug everything we know about God, His desires for us, His commands and His nature into our thinking. Our world doesn't do that, and honestly they can't because they don't know Him. They are ignorant, not in that they are "stupid", but in that they are uneducated, uninformed, and unaware of what God's will is and therefore God's will has no influence in most of their decision making.
In order to serve God, we must be different! Even though we know full well, we need to be reminded occasionally that the world we live in, for the most part, doesn't have the ability to ponder, approach or interpret things as we need them. But as our knowledge of Him increases, so does our ability to discern His will in all things worldly.
If we take our stance on the conclusions, opinions or desires of a world who is not aware of what God's plan for us is, do we think that they can possibly be in line with His plan? Certainly not! So why then do we struggle with the world's way of thinking at all? I don't have the answer, but I know we do, most likely we all do at times.
Today, remember we chose to follow our Father, they didn't, and likely any direction they are headed is one we ought to slam on the brakes, and look around, and evaluate before we take even one more step!
