God Knows How To Work
Hopefully those of you who are members at 37th Street are taking advantage of the opportunity to hear our guest speakers on Wednesday nights. If not, you are missing some very good lessons.
Taylor Robles was the speaker this past Wednesday night, and I'd like to steal a few of his thoughts and insert them into today's thought.
Recently, we used this scripture in another post, ""For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts..."" (Isaiah 55:8-9)
To borrow thoughts from brother Robles, God accomplishes what He wants, not necessarily what we want. His timing is not our timing. God is never early. God is never late. He is always right, we are not always right. He is God and we are not....(paraphrased). He accurately pointed out that we usually quote the above verse, but to understand it in its context, we need to continue reading, "...As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)
What we see, what we experience, what our eyes view, our ears hear and our brain pieces together, these are limited to our human ability. But God says He takes action with purpose, and what He desires to do, He accomplishes.
God is so vastly superior to us, I wonder why we ever question His timing or what action He takes. God sees the big picture and is not constrained by time. We may not see Him or "feel" Him working, or probably more accurately, we may not know we are seeing Him work which is more likely the case. How dare we question the God we love and trust, simply because we don't know what He's working on, or how or when He will accomplish it.
This all-powerful God, did you catch that, "ALL POWERFUL" God, is one we can fully surrender to in times of distress, fear, uncertainty, misery, and all the other bad times in life. But He is likewise actively working in the good times too, perhaps it is just more difficult for us to take notice when we don't feel as needy.
Today, if you aren't fully trusting in God, not just for your salvation, but for every other aspect of your life both positive and negative, let go, and let God take over. He is working all the time, and He knows what He is doing.
