God Alone
We live in a "God AND" society. Problem is, according to Him, it's a "God OR" deal.
God says it's either Him, or it's not. He doesn't share 1st place with anybody or anything. We want what we want, and maybe that includes God, and in our way of thinking, that's all fine and good. What does the Bible say?
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Luke 16:13)
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven..." (Matt 6:19-20)
“You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God..." (Exodus 20:3-5)
Don't worship any other God, (Exodus 34:14-16)
Don't test God, (Deut 6:14-16)
Don't love the world or things in it, (1 John 2:15-16)
Don't be like the world, (Rom 12:2)
Put to death earthly 'desires', (Col 3:4-7)
Don't love self, not proud, arrogant..., (2 Tim 3:1-5)
Don't worry about worldly necessities, (Matt 6:31-34)
Don't pursue dishonest gain, (Deut 23:18)
Not drunkard, brawler, covetous, (1 Tim 3:2-3)
Keep ONLY God's commands..., (John 14:23-24)
God doesn't share anything on an equal footing with Himself, and if we do, we don't understand the nature of God, and if we don't understand Him, how can we serve Him?
