As Far As East Is From West
If an airplane was capable, it could take off and set an East heading, and fly from now on, and still be going East. The same can be said of the plane flying West. Going East, one never switches to West, and going West, one never switches to East. On the other hand, if one were to go North, as soon as they pass the North pole, they are now going South, and if going South, as soon as one passes the South pole, they are going north.
OK, so why is that important, you say? Well, it's a Bible example of how far God removes our sin, when we meet His conditions to have it removed.
Ps 103:12 (ESV) "as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us."
God doesn't keep a file. He doesn't pull something out later to use against us. Once God forgives, He forgets! If only we could too. IF God has forgiven, we need to no longer carry guilt in our lives. We no longer need to hold others hostage for the sins they commit. God doesn't sweep anything under the carpet, He doesn't simply hide it. He eliminates it. It goes EAST, and never comes back around.
