What God Expects

From the time of Adam and Eve, God has given very clear instructions of what He wants and expects. There is so much confusion in our world today about religion, some not agreeing on what the basis for their belief even is. Others, however, who all agree on the Bible as the basis, still struggle with making application of its teachings.

We are all human, and all fall short, no matter who we are. But, we are likewise all without excuse when it comes to following God's commands. Jesus said: "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin" (John 15:22).

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened" (Romans 1:18-21).

We understand from this that ignorance is no excuse. God's existence is evident, and not just a little bit, but overwhelming. Furthermore, God has made a promise that those who diligently seek Him, can and will find Him (Heb 11:6). Perhaps the reason only a few do is because our world just has so much to do that people are preoccupied with worldliness.

God has other plans for us, "And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who hears say, 'Come!' And let him who thirsts come. And whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely" (Revelation 22:17).
