Empowered
We live in a world (and probably the world has always been this way) where people need to feel empowered. There are business decisions, women's marches, demonstrations by various groups, there are political power plays, there are from time to time various racial groups, age groups, or even military organizations who have the urge or need to feel empowered.
As Christians, our power is real, not just a feeling. It's the most mighty of all powers to be had, yet it is the most gentle, and the most submissive at the same time. Those seeking worldly power can't understand that, but we must.
We know from Acts 1:8, there was the announcement of power through the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:1-4 we see it delivered. Now, we don't get this miraculous delivery today, but that same Holy Spirit lives in us, and empowers us.
John 1:5-7 tells us if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with Him, and His blood keeps us clean. Now, that is power. We have the power of God, actively at work within us to keep us in fellowship with Him.
God gives us power to Live for Him, Titus 2:11-13. He gives us power to overcome, like He gave Jesus when He raised Him from the dead, Rev 12:11. God gives us power to live every day, content in His presence regardless of the worldly dangers around us, even knowing death has been conquered through Jesus for us. We may live boldly, because there is no fear in love, "perfect love casts out fear". 1 John 4:17-18.
And finally, God, because we are His children, offers us an eternal inheritance 1 John 4:4. This, and those listed above, give us power the world doesn't have, and can't get. It is power that can't be taken away from us. The power to overcome this world we live in is precious, and victorious. Yes, we have been empowered! Thank God for His power in our lives.
