Once Upon A Time
On the west side of the square in Snyder in a storefront window, is a huge display that says "Jesus, Better Than A Fairy-tale".
We often get accused by those opposed to Christ of believing in a fairy tale, and from the outside looking in, they may see that as an honest assessment. Isn't it absolutely comforting, however, to know that what we believe is real, both logical and provable. God gives us sufficient historical evidence and other proofs, that confirm what we read in scripture, and even to this day, man continues to uncover ancient artifacts that support the scriptures.
I've had the conversation before, that it's harder to believe what the opposition believes than to believe scripture. The origin of the world that they support, has far less evidence, no historical account, and less believability than what we believe. Yes, yet they accuse us of being the ones who believe in fairy tales.
Mankind has denied Christ as long as the knowledge of Him has existed. Even most who physically met and talked with Him rejected Him as being the Son of God, with only a few becoming faithful followers. They saw the Messiah face to face and refused to believe Who He was.
Today, when the opposition continues to deny creation, deny a supreme being, and deny a plan of salvation or a Savior, let that opposition strengthen us, not weaken us, it's no fairy-tale. When the majority rejects such a faith and belief, let us be strengthened because thousands of years ago, we were told the majority would indeed do that, just even more proof to us of the reliability of the scriptures. When you and I feel cornered by a demanding and pressing world, just remember, Jesus Himself told us we would be hated, because of Him.
When that hate comes, uncomfortable as it may be, it's yet more proof that Jesus is alive and well, and that what we believe is real in everything we have come to know through Him.
