Do You Make People Thirsty?
As a Christian, do you make people thirsty? You should. I should too. People should look at us and want what we have. Are we special? Absolutely!!
But why are we special? It's not of our own merit, not something we achieved, not something we were born with. Then what is it?
In John 7, Jesus said "...Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-38 NIV
We are special for one reason, Jesus makes us that way, but what is it specifically that makes us different? Verse 39 tells us, “By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.” John 7:39 NIV. That's right, the Spirit of Christ, of God, lives in us, and if anybody wants to argue that that doesn't make us special, then they don't understand who God is.
So back to our original question, do you make people thirsty? Do they see Jesus in you, and want Him too? Does Jesus, the Living Water, flow from within you for others to see and desire? If not, why not?
And if by chance you are on the outside looking in and you want to understand this Jesus, and the life He offers, please contact any Christian at 37th Street and we will study with you, pray with you, and help you obtain the living water for yourself. Then Jesus can flow from within you too, as He lives within you, and you live for Him.
